Vidak Votes 'NO' on Minimum Wage Hike

Thursday, March 31, 2016

Sacramento – Senator Andy Vidak (R-Hanford) issued the following statement after the Legislature passed Senate Bill 3, the measure that will hike California’s minimum wage if signed by the governor:

SB 3 is another shameful backroom deal, rushed through the legislative process to undercut the ability for small businesses and their employees to voice their strong opposition. Drastically hiking the minimum wage won’t create jobs, it won’t help the folks who don’t have jobs and it will likely force reductions in hours or shifts of folks who do have jobs.

Vidak voted against SB 3, which passed out of the Senate on a 26 – 12 vote.
