Sacramento – The California Taxpayers Association (CalTax), one of the state’s leading taxpayers’ rights advocacy groups, has awarded Senator Andy Vidak (R-Hanford) a perfect score on his voting record for siding with taxpayers, small business owners and their employees.
“Accountability for legislative votes on tax and public spending issues is critical,” said CalTax President Teresa Casazza. “Tax and spending policies voted on by the Legislature have a major impact on the health of California’s economy, and on the state’s ability to attract investments and jobs.”
According to CalTax, the voting record includes the votes of all state legislators cast during the two-year legislative session. Calculations include floor votes, committee votes, legislators who authored a bill but did not have a chance to vote on it, and credit for legislators who abstained from voting on key tax bills that CalTax opposed.
“I’m proud to vote with CalTax,” said Vidak. “We need to create a climate where businesses want to keep and create jobs in California, not to continue to make this state one of the most expensive places in the country to live and work.”
