Senator Andy Vidak: "High-Speed Rail Authority's Arrogance is Shameful"

August 19, 2013

Senator Andy Vidak (R-Hanford) issued the following statement in response to the Sacramento Superior Court’s ruling Friday that the High-Speed Rail Authority “abused its discretion by approving a funding plan that did not comply with the requirements of” Proposition 1A, a $9.9 billion bond measure voters approved in 2008:

The Superior Court’s ruling was spot on.  The High-Speed Rail Authority’s arrogance is shameful; it is blatantly ignoring the court’s decision and thumbing its nose at California taxpayers by moving forward with this train wreck.

The court announced the decision after considering a lawsuit Kings County and two Kings County residents filed in 2011.
