Here's who to blame for tomorrow's 12 cent per gallon gas tax hike and the 20 cent per gallon diesel tax hike ...

Tuesday, October 31, 2017

In April of this year, GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN signed Senate Bill 1, which in addition to raising the car tax, also will hike the gasoline tax by 12 cents per gallon and the diesel fuel tax by 20 cents per gallon starting tomorrow.

“I adamantly opposed SB 1 and its regressive tax hike on gasoline and diesel fuel,” said Senator Andy Vidak.  “Small businesses, the struggling middle class, the working poor, the unemployed, seniors on fixed incomes, people living in disadvantaged communities or areas ravaged by recent fires, and struggling students are just some of those who will suffer under these tax hikes pushed by Brown and the majority of the Legislature.  So as we all see our gasoline and diesel costs skyrocket, the prices for food and other necessities increase, let’s be sure to remember Governor Brown and these 81 legislators who voted to increase your gas tax.”
