Cal Fire Training in Tulare County

April 20, 2016

CAL FIRE conducted its  annual training of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Conservation Camp crews, in preparation for the upcoming fire season.  This training focuses on the physical agility and skills of the crews while combating wildland fires throughout the year in California.  CDCR has 196 low-risk inmate crews located in their Conservation Camp program statewide who are a critical component of their wildland firefighting mission.  On behalf of Senator Andy Vidak, District Representative Rogelio Caudillo was invited to observe the  inmate crew (pictured in orange) preparedness exercise in the Porterville area.
